Description

Eligibility Requirements: 

  1. This program is for women and gender diverse people, which includes women, all non-binary people, transgender men, and anyone with lived-experience of misogyny

  2. Applicants must be registered with a college or university at the undergraduate level (or have graduated within the last 2 years) 

  3. This program is only open to those with valid status in Canada (citizens, permanent residents, and/or holders of Canadian study or work permits valid for the duration of the program).

  4. Applicants must have prior experience with coding and advanced math (linear algebra, calculus, or statistics).

  5. This is an introductory program to machine learning. PhD candidates are not eligible for consideration.


Application Requirements: This application requires a PDF version of your CV/resumé and transcript (unofficial transcripts are accepted).


Dates & Times: The Lab will take place from May 6th to June 26th, Monday - Friday and the schedule will generally align with standard working hours. Please note that the AI4Good Lab is a synchronous learning program and attendance is required to be eligible for your stipend. 


Location: This year, the Lab will offer 3 in-person cohorts in Montreal, Edmonton, and Toronto, and one fully virtual cohort. All applicants are eligible for any program location. The selection committee will assign you to the relevant regional cohort based on your location during the program. Your preference indicated in your application will also be taken into consideration. In-person attendance is expected for those participating in an in-person cohort. Detailed information will be provided a month before the program starts for advanced planning. Eligible participants may receive travel and/or accommodation allowances.  


Fees: As a non-profit, we are devoted to reducing the barriers to access opportunities in tech. As such:

  • There is no application or tuition fee.

  • The only fee is a $60 registration fee for selected applicants.

  • All participants receive a small stipend (minimum $1000) 

  • Participants may be eligible for travel and/or accommodation allowances. 


Recommendation: As you fill out this application, save your answers in a separate word document in case you lose your work or have to come back at a later time. This form may not be saved.
